It can be difficult to verify the credentials of advertisers, therefore homeinGhana.com urges all users to make sure all payments are staged, and paid in instalments. At the very least all contracts should be reviewed by a qualified and practising lawyer recognised by the Ghana Bar Association. You should also ensure that all plans and permits are checked for validity and comply with building and planning regulations at the Lands department.

It is very easy to lose money especially when negotiating and conducting business from a distance, consequently our advice is conduct your business with due diligence making sure you have appropriate guarantees in the form of signed and legally binding contracts.

You should try to obtain photographs of everyone involved in the transaction, together with contact numbers and valid business and residential address which you must visit. See for yourself, examples of previous work and obtain in person references from previous employers or the owners of property and past customers. Third party references can be worthless unless you have the research and background information to accompany it. Our advice is, if in doubt don't do it.

In the event of a dispute all advertisers have agreed to submit themselves to binding arbitration by an independent third party nominated by homeinGhana.com. However, this can only come into effect if both parties in the dispute request this and also are willing to pay the costs incurred by the arbitrator. All effort will be made to ensure costs incurred by the arbitrator are minimal. The agreement must be in writing and signed by all parties.

Where possible homeinGhana.com highlights advertisers who are members of associations, institutes, professional bodies in order to ensure that disputes are minimised and the quality of work is maximised.
